Reiki for Self-Care

Before taking my first Reiki class, I understood Reiki to be a complementary healing practice – primarily used to help others.   When I registered for that class, I did not know that Reiki would benefit my life in so many different ways.   I never expected that Reiki would improve my overall sense of well-being – in body, mind and spirit.  Learning about Reiki and becoming attuned to this amazing energy, gave me an additional and unexpected gift of being able to support and help myself in new ways.

I am an early riser and I begin my morning with meditation.   At the beginning of my meditation practice I invite in the Reiki energy for self-Reiki treatment.  The energy flows on its own, as I sit quietly in my practice.   I  invited Reiki into my meditation practice more than a year ago . Since doing so, I have found an even greater sense of calm and well-being both during meditation and throughout the day.

My Reiki practice supports my ability to hear my own inner guidance and wisdom; many people refer to this as intuition.   Reiki helps me gain clarity, to listen and then act upon my own inner guidance.   Reiki also helps me to empower my intentions ; it provides a connection to life force energy!   I have been amazed how Reiki has helped me overcome challenges, some of which had been with me since childhood. To be clear, these changes did not happen overnight but over a relatively short period of time.   

 I now experience a greater sense of peace, along with a general sense of optimism and well-being.  I am able to spend more time in the present moment where it is easy to recognize and be grateful for my many blessings.

These changes have been gradual and have occurred over several years.  I certainly have my moments and days when I need to regroup and reflect but I those moments and days are far fewer than they used to be.  I have found that the more I connect to Reiki, the stronger the connection becomes.  Through my meditation and Reiki practices I have tools that are literally right in the palms of my hands.
